Mouse Gestures Are Now Available In Microsoft Edge

One of the most often requested additions by Edge users may be in the works, as was suggested earlier this year. The clever mouse gesture function makes it possible for users to move the mouse quickly and improves navigation.

And it appears that the function has quietly been added to Edge's preview channels for the browser. As shown below, the function comes with a variety of customization options, including right, up, down, right then up.

The upcoming version that releases to the Stable channel should include the feature for everyone to test out. However, you can utilize the feature right away if you're in one of the preview channels. What you need to do is as follows:

Before beginning to apply these procedures, make sure you're using Microsoft Edge 114 or later.

🟩Follow this route, click the Microsoft Edge shortcut, and then choose Properties: edge://settings/help

🟩 Right-click Microsoft Edge in the context menu that appears when you click on it, then choose Properties.

🟩 Press the Space key, then enter the following command after selecting the Target field in the window that appears: –enable-features=msEdgeMouseGestureDefaultEnabled,msEdgeMouseGestureSupported

🟩After that, click OK to save the changes and relaunch the browser with the new shortcut.

By moving your mouse while holding down the right-click button on your mouse, you should now be able to use the mouse gesture feature. Microsoft Edge will highlight both the text and your mouse gestures. Navigate to Menu > Settings > Appearance > Mouse Gesture for further customization possibilities.

Relatedly, Microsoft is presently developing a functionality that would enable users to separate the Edge Sidebar and relocate it to the Windows desktop. Even if the Edge browser is closed, users will still be able to access the apps and websites they have pinned to the tool.
